DAR has opened up their online Genealogical Research System to the public. It includes the Ancestor Database which contains the lineage information from most
of the verified DAR applications - under construction -. http://www.dar.org/library/online_research.cfm

That's great! In its early days, Ancestry.com had that database but for some reason removed it. While it was still up, I found a lot of family
connections through it. I have at least a dozen verified DAR patriots, probably more.

Thanks for that link!

It is a great link, just a suggestion to others.....I found using the Descendant tab more user friendly.

This is a bonanza for me. I am working on my 11th patriot ancestor, with more to go.

I have found many of my ancestors in the database too. Sylvanus Willes has many of his descendants joining under his name! I found out Nathaniel Dunham's
father fought in the REV war too. The Dunhams married into the Willes.

I wonder if my name will be in there soon? All my stuff is documented, so whoever is researching the family will be quite pleased (I hope, LOL).

Beth, from what I am seeing, the DAR will not reveal your name.
