Philander was the younger half-brother of Conrad Dumond. After his first wife died, Johannes Conrad Dumond married Sylvia Warren. Sylvia was born
about 1812 in Roxbury, Delaware County, NY and died 31 Dec 1883 in Hurley, Ulster County, NY. Johannes and Sylvia were married in 1840. Philander was the
oldest of their four children, born 28 Apr 1841 in West Hurley, Ulster, NY.
